Tapping & Riding!
N and T are so excited to be starting back to their dance classes, at our church. 9yo Nathan will be joining some of his buddies on the boys' tap dance worship team at our church. And 6yo Taba has decided to try her feet at tap this year too, along with ballet/jazz. N's tap class will be on Thursday, from 4:05-5:05, and T's class will be on Thursdays also, right after his, from 5:15-6:15. I'm so glad that it worked out for them to be on the same day, and right in a row, timewise. Considering that there are 14 different childrens' dance classes, all on different days throughout the week, at various times, this was a delightfully unexpected blessing. It will not only be easier for me to coordinate into our schedule, but also means less gas spent too! What's WAY wonderful about all this is that we'd thought we'd have to skip out on dance lessons this year, because of having such a >tight< financial budget right now, with Chris starting up his contracting business anew, and all. But when I shared this with the dance coordinator (who considered Taba one of her prize pupils last year ), she informed me that there's some full scholarships for the taking, and she'd hoped that we'd consider applying for them. So, I did, and we got them...thanks Lord!
And they've not been to a riding lesson since earlier this summer, after their week-long horse camp was finished... So, when their instructor, my dear friend, Jennifer, called this afternoon to figure out our scheduling for the new year, I was thrilled to find out that we're totally on the same page as to what/how to work out the kids' lessons, and eager to "get back in the saddle"! It's turned out that the Mom of Jennifer's only other boy student, who owns Jack Frost, the appoloosa pony Nathan had ridden, and fallen in love with, during camp, aka Frosty, has offered to bring him for N to ride (b/c she likes how they got along, and wants Frosty ridden regularly, and would like N and her son, Ian to be able to have lessons together, and see eachother) every week! So, N will be getting to ride (and possibly even show!) his most favorite pony in all the world this year... he was SO SO SO excited when I told him. And I'm so thankful to Sarah, and will make a point to somehow especially thank her when I see her... what a blessing. The kids are eager for all the new experiences we will share this year, as Jennifer plans to introduce them to the show ring, and showing classes. They've been learning to ride English, but Nathan will also get to ride Western this year probably, now that his seat is pretty secure. We're already planning to attend a show (just to watch) in Knoxville, together with Jennifer and a few of her other students that will be competing, on the 17th of this month. YAY!
