Catching up....
Well, it's been awhile since I've updated the old journal here, huh? We've been back from FL for a couple weeks now, I've no good excuse for my recent virtual absence, except for just basicly not feeling like writing. ;-) But now it's time to at least check in here!
We had a good visit in FL. The kids were absolutely spoiled by their grandparents for Christmas, and it was nice to see family and friends we haven't seen in awhile. We were glad to come home though and get back to our routine. Chris's operation went well, and he's almost fully recovered and good as new now. I actually got to watch the microscopic part of the operation on a computer screen as the surgeon did his work. It was amazing to say the least, absolutely miraculous! I just thank the Lord for His grace and mercy in making a way for this reversal to happen, that we may have another precious child together.
Speaking of babies, we've just bought ourselves a little black german shepherd pup, but don't have him yet since he's only 3 wks. old right now and still needs his mum. So we'll be getting him just in time for the kids' b-days, which are both next month. (I can hardly believe they're going to be 9 and 6! already) They are very excited about getting a puppy finally, needless to say. The idea is to get him good and house/obedience trained before our baby arrives in the next year. Sounds like a good plan, right?!
Tabitha's very excited to be starting her ballet/jazz dance class next Tuesday. We bought her leotard/tights and ballet shoes yesterday, and she of course put them all on as soon as we got home and danced around the house....what a blessing little girls are. And little boys too, of course! Nathan has been helping Dad out with working on the house alot lately, he's quite the little man these days.
Nathan's been really enjoying learning fractions lately, and even said his phonics lesson was FUN! yesterday. Wow-it's amazing what a nice long break can do for the morale, eh? Next week we're starting our Bible/history unit study by Heart of Wisdom taken from the book of Genesis, chapters 1-11, Adam to Abraham. Not sure how long this will take us, but then we'll start our Weaver-Vol.1 unit study which picks up in Gen.11. I'm planning on starting notebooking with the kids for what we study. It looks like a really fun, practical way to review, and keep a portfolio of their best work.
