A lady on one of my email lists recently asked for info. about vaccination cons, as she is expecting a baby soon, and wants to consider all her options, and know the potential dangers. I thought I'd share here my comments to her, just fyi in case anyone else is interested.:)

Chris and I have read a slew of articles about how potentially dangerous vaccs. are over the years, and even how virtually unnessary they are too for infants. We actually first started reading about this about 4.5 yrs. ago.
Eventually, when we were still in FL, we'd found a family M.D. who is a Christian and practices holistic/natural remedy medicine as much as possible (miss him, they're hard to come by.;(, and therefore didn't even accept health insurance pymt. (as most ins. company wouldn't pay for his unorthodoxed methods anyways). Well, I had taken our son in for a physical, and so spoke w/this doctor about our recent findings, and our desires to not have any more vaccinations administered to our son. I was asking his opinion on the matter, and he said that definitely there's no need to vaccinate a baby-ever! And especially w/ours being home all/most of the time. And many of the vaccs., like hep.B which they now try to administer right after birth at the hosp.!, are totally unnecessary and potentially deadly (as we'd read) and the chances of a babe contracting that disease (through intravenous needle, or body fluids of someone w/disease) is next to nil. It's all political, the pharmaceutical companies get a kickback for every shot administered, so they've contrived alot of hype to convince the masses, all for the love of $$$ basicly. The FDA's right in there w/'em, don't get me started!;-) I've read alot about how corrupt our western medical system is, unfortunate. Anyways, Dr. Robinson then went on to explain that in his opinion, there are a couple vaccs. worthy of having-like measles and rubella, but not until the child is around at least 10yo. and his body has had a chance to develop its immune system on its own first. Interesting, huh? But it's sosoooo hard to find a dr./pediatrician that'll work w/you, and esp. support you on that. So prepare yourself mentally for sticking to your guns if you go this route, as it's a good exercise in putting down that"fear of man" for sure! LOL! My brother and his wife just had their third baby a couple of months ago at a hosp., and upon their own recent research had decided not to vax their new son. They caught alot of condescending flack from the doc., but happily left the hospital with a clear conscience, with their son non-vaxed. They have continued to refuse them at their well-baby checks.
The chicken pox vax is not a sure thing anyways, and may just delay one's contracting it till adult hood, when it's much more dangerous to have. The tetanus you have to get if you've not had one w/in a year of any injury requiring it anyways, so why not just wait and get it if you need it, ie; injury by sharp, rusty metal object w/potential of causing blood poisoning.
Yep, glad to hear you're discovering this. There's alot of reliable info. on it on the web. No, we're not vaxing our children anymore either, and we know alot of like-minded parents as well who share our beliefs there. Recently I met a lady here who's had 3 babes at the hosp. and 5 at home who hasn't vaxed her babes either. She's like us, never goes to the doc. unless absolutely necessary. Anyways she said that she did recently take her teenaged dd's in to get their measles vax so they won't have potential probs. w/childbearing later? I'm not quite sure what one has to do w/the other yet, b/c we didn't get into it at the time, but I'll surely find out eventually I guess.

Also, during this "to vax, or not to vax" discussion, a friend from the list had mentioned, "I think there is an anti vaccination group at yahoo groups that is run by an RN who I believe is a physicians assistant who was injured. I have an old article from Money magazine that showed you this vaccination stuff is all about money, not health."
